Every day at Barraclough Hall School includes high quality teaching and learning time and access to different subjects within the Barraclough Hall curriculum, which follows the national curriculum.
The start of each day gives young people the opportunity to share breakfast with their class and to prepare for their day of learning. Our Monday morning assemblies are an opportunity for our young people to engage in activities linked to local and national events and areas of need, this includes assemblies linked to SMSC, the time of year, British values and personal development. After a successful day of learning, the end of each day provides an opportunity to reflect and celebrate the days achievements, as well as valuable and enjoyable enrichment activities for the children to engage in.
The education team at Barraclough Hall School are fully prepared to act on individual advice received from external therapy services. Space away from the classroom is available each day for young people to work directly with external therapy services if commissioned by the Local Authority.
Our family style lunches provide the opportunity for our young people to enjoy a healthy meal as well as time to participate in a range of structured play activities, this has the added benefit of giving young people the time to develop their social and communication skills. All young people at Barraclough Hall School are offered a cooked meal each day chosen from a rolling menu, those who wish to bring a packed lunch may do so.
Our Friday afternoons are a chance to look back on our achievements in the week and award certificates for Work of the Week, which will be displayed in their classrooms. There is also an earlier finish on a Friday afternoon to allow our young people time to fully relax and refresh themselves for the following week.
